Vehicle description
This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 RS is powered by a period-correct, date-matching DZ302 V8 engine paired with a rebuilt M21 close-ratio 4-speed manual transmission. The engine was fully disassembled and inspected during restoration, with confirmed correct internals and the addition of a DZ-spec hydraulic roller camshaft, roller valvetrain components, Pertronix ignition and long-tube headers feeding a stainless MagnaFlow exhaust system. Power is delivered through a rebuilt 12-bolt posi-traction rear axle with 3.73 gearing. The car retains its original factory sheet metal, including floors, trunk and body panels, and received a comprehensive rotisserie restoration completed in 2021 following long-term southern U.S. use. Factory Z/28 RS equipment includes front and rear spoilers, functional cowl-induction hood and air cleaner, Rally Sport trim with hidden headlamps and correct T3 headlights, with a Detroit Speed electric headlamp conversion installed while retaining original vacuum components. The interior has been restored with a concours-quality Legendary interior featuring an 8,000-rpm tachometer, full console gauge package, rosewood steering wheel and tilt column, and was ordered new with radio and clock delete. The car rides on restored 15-inch Rally wheels fitted with correct E70-15 Goodyear Wide Tread GT tires, and all chrome, stainless, mechanical and cosmetic components have been restored or renewed.
